It is unknown how long Green Essay has been around. There is no information on the company website that speaks to this. But we have found some off-site reviews and comments that go back about four years, so we can assume they are at least this old. In writing this GreenEssay.com review, we looked at the same criteria that we do for all writing services – the information the company provides on its website, policies, ordering process, prices and discounts, benefits, testimonials posted on the site, feedback from customers on off-site sources, and, most important, the quality of writing products. 

Writer Quality

What struck us when we first visited this website was the scarce amount of information about the company. It seems that all information we can get is through the FAQ section and its policies, along with the samples that are published. 

According to Green Essay, all of its writers have graduate degrees from accredited institutions and all are native English-speakers. They also state they have a training program for all of their writers, although no details are given beyond that.

Evidently, writers are assigned to orders based upon their specific credentials and experience. And there are several samples of writers’ work on the site. We read a number of them, and here is what we found:

• There are some glaring examples of word usage, sentence structure, and punctuation errors. These are typical of ESL writers, not native English-speaking professional writers.

• In some instances, it was difficult to find a clear thesis statement and to follow the flow of the points being made. 

We cannot provide a guarantee of product quality, given the samples we have reviewed.

Customer Support/Quality Control

The customer support department is available by phone, email, of live chat. We contacted via phone and chat, asking a number of questions about the company and specific products. Interestingly, we could not get an answer about how long the company had been in business, and we wonder if these are trained employees or members of an answering service. We did ask about Ph.D. dissertations and personal statement essays specifically.  We were told that a full dissertation could be produced within a week – that would be miraculous. We were also told that there would be lots of communication between students and writers during the production of a personal statement essay.

It should be noted that, in addition to academic products, the company also offers resume/cv writing and copywriting for online businesses, as well as editing and proofreading.

Ordering and Receiving Products and Services

The process for ordering and receipt of products is pretty standard. The customer fills out order forms that will give all of the details and requirements to the company, so that the suitable writer can be assigned to the task.

Pricing is in the low-average range - $12.99/page for a high school essay with a 14-day deadline, moving all the way up to $51.99/page for a Ph.D. level work with an urgent deadline. There is a GreenEssay.com discount plan in place that is explained in the FAQ section. There is a 15% discount for new customers on their first orders; there are also pricing specials throughout the year, and customers are encouraged to check these out by accessing the website often. There are also lifetime discounts, ranging from 5 – 15%, based on the number of orders a customer has placed. 

The payment process is secured via a third-party SSL certified processor, so customers can feel safe providing their financial information.

In all, we can state that Green Essay is a legal writing service, taking orders, assigning writers, and delivering products to its customers. 

Benefits and Perks

It is difficult to know about any additional benefits, because they are not published on the website. We did speak to customer service (open 24/7 by the way) about freebies and were told that title and bibliography pages were free, and that all products were reviewed for correctness before they were delivered.

Off-Site Feedback

We were able to find customer comments and feedback on off-site sources and those that were submitted to us. In general, the verdicts were mixed. Some customers did express that they were satisfied with the process and their products, even if they had to correct a few grammar errors themselves. Others were not so happy. They spoke to grammar and compositional errors, somewhat inferior research resources, and a few stated that deadlines were missed. Overall, this feedback was mixed.

Summary/Recommendation

We are not prepared to highly recommend this writing service. While it is certainly a trusted source for writing needs, in terms of placing an order and having details followed, the quality remains an issue. Revisions are offered, but some customers state that even the revisions did not correct all of the problems with a product. Overall, we are assigning a rating of 2-3, on a 1-5 scale. Those who choose to use this service do take some risk.
